'Sunset Swim'

$440.00

‘Sunset Swim’is an abstract piece from the body of work, Whatever the Weather, by Chloé Du Bois. The works explore the weather of the mind through abstract coastal landscapes.

In this piece, the sunset glistens — commanding not only the sky, but the ocean pools it reflects into. Have you been here? Do you know this seaside vista? There’s a familiarity to the surrounding commotion, while the luminous view invites you to stand still, to peer closer.

And isn’t that true of any thing or place you feel drawn to plunge into? Your focus must steady for the noise to dissolve. As in meditation, we observe — and then, we plunge.

About the Collection

Whilst these pieces evolved as an exercise in simply moving brush and paint around, the intention as they sit together is that they land like ‘you’ve been there’. That the vistas and momentum in the sweeping layers of paint evoke a spectrum of emotions that belong to transitional times and offer the viewer a solace in knowing, or peace in pastel composition and contemplation.

For this too shall pass. Observe the mind as you do the weather, and you’ll be fine.
